Method

  1. Firstly, we need to wash Arbi (Taro Root) 2-3 times with water.

2. Once washed, boil the Arbi in a pressure cooker for one whistle.

3. Take it off the gas afterward.

4. Once the pressure is released, take out the Arbi & peel them off.

5. Now cut all the pieces equally from mid, then in large slices.

6. Take a clean and dry pan, add some mustard oil, and heat it on high flame.

7. Once heated, slow down the flame, put some ginger & garlic (chopped). Once they become light brown, take them out. Keep them aside.

8. Now put some carrom seeds in the same oil followed by sliced Arbi and cook it open on a medium flame for 15 mins (till half cooked). Keep flipping the Arbi in between.

9. After 15 mins, once they become slightly crispy, add finely chopped green chilies, coriander powder, salt, and some cumin powder.

10. Cover the pan with a lid & let it cook for another 7-10 mins on low flame. Keep stirring in between.

11. Finally, add some Maggi Magic Masala, red chili flakes & sprinkle some chat masala. Let it cook for 5 mins without covering. Once cooked, sprinkle it with fried ginger & garlic (step 8).

Now, your fried Arbi (crispy taro root) is ready. You can have it as an evening snack with tea. Also, you can enjoy it as dinner with some Daal & Chapatis.
