Romcoms are back on Netflix after a while, which is rare for a platform that used to be active with the genre.

Love at First Sight is based on an already published work and aims to be swoonworthy, feel-good, and heartfelt.

Originating from America, its total runtime is approximately ninety minutes.

Here is my review of the film.

Love at First Sight Synopsis

Hadley and Oliver meet at the airport after the former misses an important flight. What are the odds of them falling in love?

Well, almost 100% as the duo promises to meet post the landing of their airplane. However, a dramatic twist stops them from doing so.

What Works for Love at First Sight?

In the realm of romantic comedies, perfection remains an elusive dream.

One can scour the vast catalog and struggle to find films that truly embody this elusive ideal.

After all, the very definition of love varies from person to person.

Yet, while crafting a flawless romcom may be a quest without end, avoiding a lackluster one is entirely possible.

Most tales of on-screen love culminate in predictably happy endings.

What sets each apart is the execution, a facet that consistently elevates the story’s essence.

In Love at First Sight, you get to witness a profoundly delightful tale, laden with appealing dialogue.

The idea, extracted from a published work, of playing with statistical undertones, fits the narrative perfectly.

It adds to the fun and wit of the characters involved.

Further, the greening presence of the narrator also works in favor of the movie.

The solitude with which the lines are spoken, the emotions relayed through expressions, and the camera work are other aspects of eminence for Love at First Sight.

When coupled with an irresistible chemistry between the lead pair, the results are nothing short of delightful.

Additionally, the soundtrack, a surprising gem, exceeds expectations with emotionally charged songs.

Music, an integral facet of any romantic creation, is skillfully employed in “Love at First Sight,” enhancing its appeal.

Moreover, the carefully plotted events in the film are excitingly put to roll. Even the smallest of moments or chance encounters provide a delightful dose of stimulation.

The cozy ambiance of two souls falling in love is portrayed with meticulous attention to detail, making Love at First Sight an endearing presentation.

Lastly, the film’s succinct 90-minute duration is masterfully paced, devoid of any dull moments within its romantic plot.

How are the Performances?

Haley Lu Richardson, in the role of Hadley, radiates charisma from her very core.

Her ability to effortlessly bring authenticity to her character’s emotions captivates viewers, holding them transfixed to the screen.

Richardson’s screen presence is nothing short of adorable, a testament to her artistry.

Whether it’s her meticulously crafted body language or her nuanced expressions, the actress leaves no room for doubt about her talent.

Ben Hardy, portraying Oliver in Love at First Sight, is another standout performer who ignites the screen with his commanding presence.

His spontaneous and emotionally charged performance is a magnetic force, drawing the audience deeper into the film’s narrative.

Hardy’s dedication to shaping Oliver’s character shines through, creating an impression of effortlessness in the final result.

What Doesn’t Work for Love at First Sight?

Though it might not be perfect for everyone, I quite liked the movie. So, this section remains blank this time around.

Should You Stream or Skip Love at First Sight?

In sum, Love at First Sight is a shining example of how a well-crafted romcom can transcend the genre’s clichés and deliver an exceptionally enjoyable cinematic experience.

I would suggest you give it a go.
