Matrix Opti Care Smooth Straight shampoo is a hair care product designed to regulate and smoothen chemically straightened hair.

Silk Amino Acids and Shea Butter are used to assist, protect, condition, and moisturize hair for a healthy, silky shine.

To make hair silky smooth, it gently cleanses and moisturizes, softens texture, tames frizz, and adds shine and manageability.

It is available in two variants, 200ml and 350ml.

Packaging

Matrix Opti Care Smooth Straight shampoo is packed in a large, bright orange bottle with a flip-top closure.

The shampoo is dispensed through a tiny opening. Further, its cap is designed to give the idea of a press-button opening.

I had to fight for a few seconds to figure out how to open this bottle on the first use.

Texture/Consistency/Fragrance

The shampoo has a nice flow, neither too thick nor too loose. It is off-white in color and has a semi-thick viscosity with a delicious guava scent.

The texture is silky and creamy. Compared to the other shampoos I’ve tried, this one is the most cost-effective.

On wet hair, a dollop of this shampoo lathers up nicely. It’s also simple to rinse off and doesn’t leave a greasy residue.

My experience with Matrix Opti Care Smooth Straight Shampoo

I recently had my hair chemically treated and used Matrix Biolage shampoo and conditioner, and I was pleased with the results. When those bottles ran out, I was on the hunt for a new shampoo and conditioner.

I’ve wanted to switch from my normal hair wash to a professional one for a long time. Professional products not only have a more upscale appearance, but they also claim to offer various benefits that a drugstore product cannot.

I purchased the Matrix Opti Care Smooth Straight shampoo as a result of this perception. Technically, it is for chemically straightened hair, and because I have natural hair that has never been chemically straightened, I debated whether or not I should buy it.

I looked into various professional hair brands but couldn’t find anything that met my hair’s requirements. I was so determined to get a professional hair wash that I bought Matrix Opti Care half-heartedly.

Also, I’ve seen several folks who use this shampoo who never got their hair straightened, so my half-hearted decision was backed up by that.

Because I have an oily scalp, my hair used to weigh down on the second day after shampooing, and I had to rewash them on the third day.

However, with Matrix Opti Care Smooth Straight Shampoo, I can easily go two days without shampooing my hair. My hair no longer appears greasy or weighed down.

Also, after shampooing, I don’t always feel the need to condition my hair. The shampoo itself has the capacity to manage frizz and give my hair a lustrous appearance.

However, when I combine this shampoo with Matrix Opti Care Smoothing conditioner, I get better results in terms of frizz control and shiny hair.

Long Term Analysis: Good or Bad

When it comes to the long-term benefits of using this shampoo, I’ve been using it for over 1.5 months and haven’t noticed any significant changes in my hair’s health.

I was hoping for a little more from Matrix Opti Care regarding hair texture refinement. Nonetheless, it accomplishes most of its claims, and I have no regrets adding it to my collection.

Why the Matrix Opti Care Smooth Straight Shampoo Appeals to me?

There are several things about the shampoo that attract me:

  • Its guava scent is one of my favorites.
  • Deeply cleanses the scalp.
  • Removes oil from my hair for two days.
  • Frizz is tamed to some extent.
  • My hair now has a beautiful sheen to it
  • When it comes to money, a little goes a long way.
  • It lathers up nicely.
  • Makes hair easier to handle.

Final Words

The majority of the claims made by Matrix Opti Care Smoothing shampoo are true. It eliminates frizz, adds shine, and makes hair manageable.

So far, I’m pleased with my purchase, although parabens may prove to be a deterrent in the long run.

So, the next time, I’ll opt for a more natural shampoo with fewer chemicals.
