Social media is a myth, the biggest lie in anybody’s life (most of you would agree). We regularly see people throwing their lives away at a big party, traveling around the world, or narrating how they cracked the code of being a billionaire overnight when the reality lies far away.

These false myths trigger you personally, making you addicted to them, and the next thing you do is spend more time witnessing others’ lifestyles than improving yours.

However, this article will discuss how quitting social media can unlock a more positive way of living.

You Will Get More Sleep

You check your cell phone before sleeping in an attempt to keep a tab on your social media notifications. This is probably a result of you wanting to be aware of what’s happening around the world.

One interesting notification, and you start browsing further while getting stuck in a never-ending loop. It snatches your sleep and makes you ignorant about the same for the rest of the time, but do you know how much it affects your health?

Several studies point to the demerits of sleeping less than eight hours. Moreover, sleeping late can disturb your schedule for the next day (even if it is a weekend).

You Will Become More Confident

Confidence is not just a word to describe your personality. It also helps you in standing up for yourself. However, you should know that checking social media all the time, even when looking at your best friend’s wall, makes you feel less confident about yourself for not being as good as they are.

That’s when you should realize that staying away from such apps will make your life healthier and enhance your confidence levels.

You Will Lead a Stress Free Life

If you can’t resist getting ostensibly aware through social media, you might need to introspect. Sometimes, a barrage of information can drive you crazy, increasing stress levels.

Watching the world do all sorts of things can demean you and lead to anxiety. On the contrary, chopping your time off Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram can swing in calmness.

You Will Be More Creative

There was a time when people used to be more creative. Yes, that was the pre-social media era. The present age is all about everyone scrolling down day and night without thinking about how it affects their ability to observe and create something out of the box.

That’s why you need to understand that getting rid of social media gives you a lot of time to think, observe, and be more creative than ever.

You Will Discover More About Yourself

Social media can drain your energy while taking all of your time. And in that process, you forget to realize who you are, what are your likes and dislikes, who your friends are, what you should do about your life, what goals you have to achieve, or what plans you have to make.

There are too many things that you want to figure out, but due to your addiction to social media, things are not turning out good as you were expecting.

Hence, it’s high time you knew that quitting social media won’t only give you time to discover more about yourself but also change your life in a very positive way.

You Will Build Stronger Relationships

If you can’t resist scrolling on social media apps, you can gladly accept that you are overusing social media. Of course, it is not a good sign for your relationships with your friends and loved ones.

Social media sucks most of the time and leaves you in isolation which dethrones your relationships. However, to build strong emotional connections, you need to take a break from the internet and spend time with people who care about you.

You’ll Have Fewer Arguments

hiding behind the screen and posting nasty comments is as easy as drinking a glass of water. Social Media is full of people filled with filth. They use cuss words to abuse you, knowing they are short on facts.

It makes you lose your peace of mind, making you restless. Against this backdrop, imagine getting stuck in a room where someone is trying to argue with you. You might vent the previously accumulated anger on them.

Similarly, you may get angry even on smaller things that are not good for your health as it increases mental pressure. Therefore, avoiding social media for a while (and then regularly) is a good idea if you want to avoid unnecessary arguments.

You Will Feel Less Bored

Do you start scrolling whenever you get stuck in a crowd? (I do that, too) I guess it is because we want to utilize the time we’re wasting. However, the truth is that we intend to get more bored when we use social media in every moment of our life.

Consequently, we do not participate in other activities or events around us. If we quit social media entirely, we will have more time to enjoy life doing activities like cycling, running, swimming, playing our favorite sport, etc.

Or maybe, play some board games with family, what say?

You Will Be More Energetic

Do you feel exhausted while sitting in your room and using social media? If yes, then you should know that spending too much time on the internet to hide away from reality will suck out energy (Yes, just like the sun does in the Glucose advertisements).

It will absorb your precious time and take all the power you need to run errands. Eventually, you will begin procrastinating more and more.

On the other hand, when you quit social media, you will realize you have thrown away a burden from your head, and now you are more energetic than ever to do everything.

Abandoning social media can be challenging, but when you realize its harsh side effects, you will know quitting is better than living an unhealthy lifestyle.
